The Economic Impact of Park Capital Investment
Blue Dot Consulting, in consultation with the Trust for Public Land, a nationally recognized nonprofit, analyzed the economic impact of investing $18 million annually in parks capital over a 15-year period. Their analysis concluded that a $270 million parks capital program is expected to generate substantial regional economic activity through construction spending, local purchasing, and related economic effects, while also delivering long-term public benefits associated with improved park access, health, quality of life, climate resilience, and community vitality.
Separately, Trust for Public Land’s broader research supports a long-term public-benefit case in excess of $1.5 billion over 15 years.
